Family Camp

Riverdale Assembly of God Family Camp takes place very summer in mid June. It is only one week long, but probably the most powerful week in many lives. The dates may vary year to year, but are usually in early to mid June. We take this week to get away from the civilization of home, for some free time from the pressures of normal life and an opportunity to rest. Relaxation and fellowship are key, but not priority. At RAG we use this entire week to get our hearts more in tune with God and to receive more of His spirit. He never fails to move in hearts and lives in a great and powerful way each year. Family Camp is for families … naturally … but not just families. Many of the bus children from our bus routes attend each year as well. We have even had folks from out of state visit in times past. Actually anyone is welcome at our family camp. It is just called this for one reason, because it is family oriented. There are classes every day for the children and an adult session in the afternoon for all the adults. Classes begin every morning directly following chapel which starts right after breakfast. These classes all vary starting at all different times depending on the age group. There is a Bible class, an Arts and Crafts class, and a Music class. The age groups begin at kindergarten to senior in high school. Classes run from chapel to lunch time normally around 12:30 p.m. or so. After lunch most folks get some rest for the evening service because they seem to last quite a little bit longer than normal. Others play ball or go swimming at their appointed times or go to sleep. At 5:00 p.m. the bells rings for dinner and everyone moves towards the cafeteria for a delicious meal prepared by one of the church cook teams. After dinner is over everyone goes to the chapel for Prep service which starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs on into the evening service around 7:00 p.m.
